Sunset Beach Restaurants

Living in or visiting Sunset Beach, North Carolina, gives you the perfect opportunity to enjoy some of the best seafood in the country. Since it’s right on the beach, the seafood is as fresh as any you’ll find in other seaside towns. You can get oysters, fish, crabs, and shrimp that were pulled out of the sea the same day they get to your plate! Whether you want to eat out at a local restaurant, or use your condo’s kitchen to cook on your own, you can find some of the area’s best seafood right in Sunset Beach.

One of the local favorites is Crabby Oddwater’s. Don’t be put off by the name! It’s crabby because it serves lots and lots of crab, and "Oddwater" is the name of the type of small inlet that the restaurant is situated by. It’s built right over a fresh seafood market, so you can always get the best fresh seafood when you eat at Crabby’s.

Another local favorite is the Twin Lakes by the Sea Restaurant, which is always crowded with locals and visitors who love their food and return again and again. You get a lot of food for your money at Twin Lakes which, of course,  specializes in fresh, local seafood dishes. The seafood here is so fresh that it doesn’t have to be hidden under piles of sauce, so you can enjoy a menu of simply cooked seafood straight from the ocean to your plate.

If you’d prefer to cook on your own, you can still enjoy the freshest seafood you’ve ever eaten. Simply head to the Island Market. You can get fresh seafood brought in from the boats that day.

If you need some suggestions on how to cook it, just ask one of the gurus at the market or track down a local. The best way to cook most seafood is very simply, with just a few seasonings and lemon. Pair your seafood with a nice glass of white wine from the local winery, and you’ll have a fantastic dinner for two or for the whole family.
